St. Philip Youth Ministry (S.P.Y.) WE HAVE A NEW YOUTH MINISTER! Actually, we have a returning Youth Minister. Jim Weir, who was our Youth Minister from 1998 until 2001, is coming back to our parish. Jim left us to get married and move back home to Florida. Now Jim will be returning to Texas along with his wife, Heather, and their three young children--Elizabeth, James, and Mary. Jim hopes to be here by the middle of September. We are very excited to have Jim and his family back in our faith community. Welcome back Jim, Heather, and children! CORE TEAM We are looking for a few good volunteers (men or women, at least 21 years of age) who would be interested in working with our teens. Must be willing to attend S.P.Y. Nights on most Sunday evenings and other activities during the year, such as retreats, fun days, etc. If you are interested, please contact Susan Sandles, 972-219-5838. HIGH SCHOOL S.P.Y. (St. Philip Youth) Due to the return of our Youth Minister, we may delay our kick-off until Jim can be with us. Keep watching the Web site and bulletin for our start date. PRAYER/DISCUSSION GROUP We have started up again and welcome any incoming freshmen to join us. We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Youth Room in the Community Life Center. Each week we discuss a different topic of interest to the teens. Stop by and see what we are about. ATTENTION ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS Watch this space and the bulletin for information about a fun day we are planning for all of you before school starts.
