Social Justice Outreach & Pastoral Care MinistriesThe Outreach and Pastoral Care Ministries reach out to our brothers and sisters. ANNULMENT Those interested in obtaining information concerning the healing and reconciling process of annulment are invited to call our Canonical Marriage Case Coordinator, Jackie Jones, 972-219-7280, JackieJ@stphilipcc.org. CATHOLICS RETURNING HOME A special six-week program designed to help non-practicing Catholics return to the Church and their faith. ECUMENICAL MINISTRY Members seek to educate our own parish in the work toward Christian unity. Work with neighboring Christian churches to increase the understanding and love among our fellow Christians. GRIEF RECOVERY An educational program and support group for persons who are experiencing grief due to death, a life-threatening illness, divorce, etc. Grief Recovery is supportive and non-judgmental. HAITIAN PILGRIMS Members are concerned with the plight of our brothers and sisters in Haiti, and work to support our sister parish, St. Therese, in Boileau. MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER MINISTRY Turn a good marriage into a great marriage. A support group composed of couples that have attended a Marriage encounter weekend; monthly meetings. Marthas Provide short-term help to parishioners in need. Varied projects include making meals or serving food for a funeral reception or for families of those hospitalized. Ministers of Care Bring prayer, compassion, Scripture, and Eucharist to the sick and homebound of our community in hospitals, nursing homes, or private homes. PARISH WELLNESS A new program at St. Philip, spearheaded by nurses in the parish. A dynamic process of working with parishioners toward wholeness of body, mind, and spirit. PEACE AND JUSTICE MINISTRY Striving to follow the example of Jesus, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the ministry seeks to identify the disenfranchised, to advocate for their needs and concerns, and to mobilize the parish by serving as a catalyst in providing leadership, education, and resources to meet those needs through prayer and service in full harmony with nature. Click here for their Web page. Prison MinistRY Members travel weekly to Denton County Jail and Wackenhut Prison to share the Sunday readings and the Eucharist with those confined in prison. SERRA CLUB Members actively foster and affirm religious vocations, and further Catholicism by encouraging its members to fulfill their Christian vocations of service to the church. Monthly meetings. Contact Jim Wagner, 972-436-8601. SPONSOR COUPLE MINISTRY Sponsor Couple Ministry is one of the ways an engaged couple prepares for the sacrament of marriage. The engaged couple meets with their sponsor couple to discuss the many aspects of a Christian marriage, and gain insight on marriage based on the marital experiences of their sponsor couple.
