Finances and Saint Philip
Annual Offertory Appeal & Budget
St. Philip operates on a July through June fiscal year, as
do all churches in the Fort Worth Diocese. Each year, in late April through
June, letters and pledge cards are sent out to every registered
parishioner. For two weekends, there are sermons at all Masses about the
campaign and our financial status. During this appeal, we ask that you
prayerfully consider giving us a commitment as to what you would like to
contribute to St. Philip during the upcoming year for its normal operating
budget. This benefits both the parishioner and the parish. The parishioner is
able to plan from their household budget, and set giving goals according to
their means. St. Philip can, in turn, set its budget based on expected income,
and plan for expenditures for facilities and programs for the year.

Diocesan Support (Cathedraticum Tax)
By Diocesan directive, 9.5 percent of our weekly collection
goes to our Diocese in support of their overall operation.
Parish Tithe
In our choice to have a preferential option for the poor, we
tithe 10 percent of our weekly income to various charities, both local and
worldwide. We strongly believe that we need to show our gratitude for
everything the Lord has blessed us with by helping our less fortunate brothers
and sisters in the world.
Easter Sunday Collection
The entire Easter collection goes to the Diocese in support
of our seminarians. No money
stays in the parish.
Why Use Envelopes
Most parishioners who have filled out a registration card
are sent either weekly or monthly envelopes. An outside company, based on the
listing we provide, sends these envelopes directly to the parishioner. Weekly envelopes are sent out every
other month, and monthly envelopes are sent out every six months. Your church
identification number, found above your name, indicates how often you are sent
the envelopes. The numbers 1 to 1999 indicates weekly, and the numbers 5000 to 5999
indicates monthly. We ask that you try to use your envelopes consistently, as
it ensures accurate recording of your contributions and makes our jobs easier.
If you would like to change from weekly to monthly or vice versa, please
contact the Census Coordinator at the church office. Also, if you would prefer
to contribute quarterly or annually, we can give you a special ID number to
indicate that as well.
Your envelope packet also contains some extra envelopes for
holy days, and other special collections requested by our diocese.
Our collection baskets are only sent around one time at
Mass, so you should put all envelopes in the basket when it reaches you.
OOPS!
Did you rush out of the house without your envelope? Are you new to our
parish? Stop by and visit the Receptionist. She has a special envelope for you
at her desk. If you know your ID number, please write it on these envelopes or
on loose checks. You may also mail us your offering if you are out of town or
forgot your checkbook.
Your monthly offerings to all of our campaigns can now be made with a credit card.
Please call our Census Coordinator, Gina Daly, at 972-219-8565,

information.
Sharing in Ministry
The Annual Diocese of Fort Worth Appeal, Sharing in Ministry,
provides the critical financial lifeblood for a broad range of Catholic
ministries and apostolates, particularly our inner-city and rural parishes and
elementary schools. The appeal is held in every parish of our diocese during
the Fall months. None of the money raised stays in the parish.
