Policy Statement
It is our policy at St. Philip that anyone wanting to sign
up a student for our classes should be a registered parishioner. For those
living in the parish less than two months at the time of religious education
class registration, the regular fee applies. For those living within the
boundaries of the parish for more than two months and not registered, a higher
fee applies.
Financial Responsibility
Any parishioner in any parish should be contributing
financially to support that parish. If you wish to have your student
enrolled in one of our Religious Ed sessions, but you prefer to be registered
and financially supporting another parish, there will be a separate fee for your
student.
We also realize that not every family can give money to
support a parish. If this is the case with your family, please let us
know. All matters are kept confidential and no student will be turned
away.
All Are Welcome
We in the Religious Education department realize that all
children learn differently, and that all children have their own individual
needs. If your child has a special learning difference, or needs classroom
accommodation or curriculum modification, we need to be made aware of those
needs. By sharing this information, we can then modify class material,
recruit additional classroom aides, or advise the catechist of your child's
learning differences. Please contact Susan Sandles for more information.

eucharist. From September through Pentecost, weekly meetings on Tuesday
nights. During the summer months, bi-monthly sessions at the 9:30 am

Small Communities of Faith
These groups are open to all men and women of the
parish. They meet in private homes or at the parish to study the weekly

teaching during these sessions, and it is a good way for newcomers to meet other
parishioners. Contact Susan Sandles,

IMPORTANT
NOTICES
One of
the successes of our Religious Education Program is the use of what we call
"Session Coordinators." These are people who work directly with the
Director of Religious Education (DRE), RE Coordinator, RE Administrative
Assistant, and Youth Minister in implementing all of the programs in our
Department. These paid positions
requires a highly organized person who is good at working with volunteers.
We have a job description for each position, and invite anyone interested to
please call the office for more information.
FOR ANY POTENTIAL SUPPORT/VOLUNTEER STAFF
Anyone having contact with our kids in RE will be required to attend a session
called “Keeping Kids Safe.” Attending
one of these sessions is mandatory for anyone volunteering in RE. Other
parishes in our diocese will be conducting these sessions, and you can attend
this at another parish. Call the office for additional details.
For information
about any of our RE programs,
contact
Susan Sandles, 972-219-5838, or
Kim Carr, 972-219-1511.
